How to infuse

It is not difficult to infuse puerh tea.

Standard way

What you need are

  • - Tea pot
  • - Tea leaf (5g for 500cc)
1Put tea leaf in the tea pot.
2Pour boiling water into the pot.
3Leave still for 30 seconds.
4Pour out the tea from the cup (rinse tea)
5Pour boiling water again.
6Wait for 5 minutes.
7Serve tea to cups.
8Enjoy puerh tea!
Tips
- Break tea leaf thoroughly.
- #4 is very important. It makes taste smoother. Do not through tea leaf from the pod.
- adjust the amount of tea leaf if it is too strong or weak. Different tea has different optimal amount to infuse.
- If tea were too strong, add boiling water to thin the tea to desired strength.
- "to Enjoy" is the most important tips to enjoy tea!

Traditional way

In special occasion, it is good and fun to infuse tea in more traditional way. What you need are

  • - Tea pot (preferably Chinese tea pot)
  • - Tea leaf (8g for 250cc)
  • - Tea pitcher
  • - Tea table
1Put tea leaf in the tea pot.
2Pour boiling hot water into the pot.
3Leave still for 30 seconds and pour tea to the tea pitcher.
4Pour boiling water to the pot again.
5Wait for 5 min.
6Serve tea in the tea pitcher to the cups while infusing tea in #5.
7Pour out tea from cups and tea pitcher.
9Serve tea to the tea pitcher from tea pot.
10Serve tea to the cups.
11Enjoy tea!!
Tips
- First infuse is to rinse the tea leaf and to warm tea pot, cut, etc.
- Use boiling hot water all the time.
- If tea is too strong, add boiling water to pitcher, then serve tea.

How to break tea cake?

The "tea knife" is the dedicated tool to break tea. However, if you have thick needle such like in the picture below, it will work fine as well. Point the edge of needle on surface of tea cake and move it up and down to "dig" the tea cake. Be careful not to push the needle too strong, it could potentially result in serious injury.
